Tain Juniors FC

Tain Juniors Football Club is a youth initiative, who were formed in the mid 90s. The club currently has over 100 young members, boys and girls, primary to secondary school, who receive weekly coaching. The club also arranges regular soccer tournaments; their June tournament attracted over 50 teams from as far afield as Portree to Lochinver.

In 2005, the Under 17 side won the Ross-shire SWL League trophy, with a number of the club's players going on to play at senior level for Tain Thistle -- such as Daniel Christie, Andy Durrand and Martyn Farquhar (pictured above). Most recently, the feat was emulated when the 17s won the league and cup double in 2009, a team which featured John Maclellan, Andrew Sutherland, Ryan Johnston and Donald Matheson who are now playing with the Thistle welfare side.

The club currently operates an Under 15 and Under 17 side during the summer months. For information on attending coaching, please use the Contact Us link at the top of the page.
